The Media Council of Kenya is set to join the rest of the World in marking the international world press freedom day on the 3rd of May 2016 in a colorful event that will also double up as the media council awards gala night scheduled to take place at the intercontinental hotel in Nairobi. This year's theme will focus on using free and independent media to spur inclusive development and transparency in a digitalized media. The gala night will have Kenya’s best journalists feted during the 5th annual journalism excellence awards.
