20th February, 2016

The government has allocated ksh.21.8 billion in the next financial year as conditional allocations in loans and grants to support healthcare services for county governments. This is a reduction by ksh.5.2 billion compared to the current financial year where the government allocated ksh.27 billion. The monies, which will be managed by the national government, will fund activities such as free maternal care, leasing of medical equipment, supporting level five hospitals and compensate county health facilities for not charging user fees in public health facilities.
