Land owners in Kajiado affected by the Power Line project

2nd February, 2016

Energy and petroleum cabinet secretary Charles Keter has directed the national land commission to re-evaluate land in Kajiado that has been affected by the stalled Kenya electricity transmission company (KETRACO) project. Land owners affected by the power line stopped the project over compensation disparities which they say was injustice by KETRACO. Keter who was accompanied by interior cabinet secretary Joseph Nkaissery was speaking in Isinya, Kajiado County where he attended a consultative meeting with area leaders and affected land owners. Nkaiserry says the corruption allegations fronted by the land owners have been considered and investigations of those mentioned will be conducted.
