Over 1,000 striking health workers in Busia County have been sacked. Busia County governor, Sospeter Ojaamong’, has accused the workers of absenteeism and theft of drugs at hospitals. He says his administration is now seeking the services of military personnel and faith-based organisations to offer medical services to patients as an emergency measure. Sharon Momanyi reports.
