A student passes on after waiting for 12 hours to be attended to in Kakamega

Students of Masinde Muliro University took to the streets of Kakamega to demonstrate over the death of one of their own. According to the students, Abigael Chesang a third year student died on Monday of alleged negligence by the staff of the Kakamega county referral hospital. Chesang had last week delivered a boy at the same hospital through cesarean section but later developed complications. According to her relatives, before her death, she had to wait for 12 hours to get treatment and was only given painkillers as she breastfed her week –old infant.
