The Kenyan Council of Governors has come to the defense of Murang’a governor Mwangi wa Iria, saying the members of the Murang’a county assembly never gave him a chance to be heard before proceeding with his impeachment motion. Council chairman Peter Munya says Wa Iria was not responsible for the delayed release of funds to the county assembly as alleged by the MCAs and should thus not have been impeached on that ground.
