In the run up to the vote the issue of persons with albinism continues to dog political leaders. The CCM candidate John Magufuli has described the practice of killing such people for ritual purposes as a national shame. But rights activists insist that no candidate has shown any serious commitment to protecting this group of Tanzanians.
