National Lands Commission raises concerns over Community Land Bill 2015
13th October, 2015
The national lands commission is raising alarm over what they term as a possible clash in roles between the commission and the ministry of lands following recommendations made to the parliamentary committee on lands that they insist have not been adopted. The commission is concerned about clause 8 (1) of the Community Land Bill 2015 that gives the lands cabinet secretary powers to gazzette and adjudicate programmes for purposes of registration of community land; a role they say should be conducted by the commission.
