13th October, 2015

Maseno University closed indefinitely following riots that erupted due to elections on Monday Police have confirmed that one student died in the melee although students say two of their colleagues died and others injured during a confrontation with police in Kisumu. Wrangles developed after two factions campaigning for the students elections started fighting. The elections were scheduled to take place in October 15. This comes just days after the institutions administration block was burnt down in an arsonist attack which police believe was orchestrated by the students.
