Operations at Mombasa port remain paralysed as dock workers’ strike continue

The civil servants trade union is threatening to join the countrywide strike over the new NHIF rates. Reports indicate that civil servants are holding a meeting to decide whether to call their strike on Thursday to protest the new rates implemented in April. In Mombasa, operations at the port remain paralyzed for the second day today as the over 5000 members of the dock workers union continue with their strike.
