It was the first time that the groove awards was held in Nyeri county and business operators cashed in on the huge sales. The fare from Nyeri town to Karatina was raised from 70 to 300 shillings. Among the performing artists were Size 8, Dj Mo, Daddy Owen, Bahati, Willy Paul, Alice Kamande, Grace Mwai and many others.
