The institute of certified public accountants is challenging government agencies to keep proper audited accounts to enhance transparency. This comes as many queries into government expenditure are raised with fewer answers being given. Currently the government takes six months to audit its accounts but it takes parliament much longer to debate the accounts making it harder to put the government to account.
