The motion to impeach the speaker was moved by Merigi ward representative Sammy Chelule who alleged that the speaker was incompetent and had been giving misleading rulings. During the debate members defended the speaker terming the motion as a plan by other members to derail the development agenda. The matter was put to a vote and all thirty-two members present, including the one who tabled the motion, voted against the proposal to impeach the speaker. This is the second time a motion to impeach the speaker of Bomet county has failed.
