Deputy president William Ruto's plane diverted over safety concerns

Deputy president William Ruto’s plane that was bound for Kakamega was yesterday diverted to Kisumu international airport after authorities raised questions over the safety of the facility after take-off, Kenya airports authority Chief Lucy Mbugua later clarified that a notice temporarily barring usage of the Kakamega airstrip that had recently undergone refurbishment had not been lifted in time, but the facility was ready for use in late December, Ruto was headed to Vihiga MP Yusuf Chanzu’s home-coming celebration.
