Parliament on removal of six members of JSC

7th November, 2013

The national assembly is this afternoon expected to adopt or reject a report recommending the removal of six members of the judicial service commission. A motion to allow debate on the report was moved yesterday afternoon by the legal affairs committee chairman Samuel Chepkonga. The report which was tabled before the house last week seeks the formation of a tribunal to remove JSC members Ahmednasir Abdulahi, Rev. Samuel Kobia, professor Christine Mango, justice Mohamed Warsame, Emily Ominde and Florence Mwangangu from the JSC. The committee on justice and legal affairs wants the six removed from office over allegations of serious violation of the constitution, gross misconduct and incompetence.
