Chinese tech company Huawei has initiated a program in the country aimed at equipping the youth in informal settlements with ICT and entrepreneurial skills. Working in partnership with slum code a community based organization in Nairobi, the Huawei sponsored program has so far had internship and mentoring initiatives, nurturing the youth as they work to better their lives and starting their own businesses. As part of the program, Huawei will provide the youth with three month basic it training equipping them with the vital skills of setting up their own business venture.
