Curse of Grey hair in Kilifi County

Despite several initiatives and campaigns mounted to curb the lynching of the grey haired elderly people accused of practicing witchcraft in Kilifi, the killings still rage on. At least two senior citizens are killed in Kilifi county every month in an appalling state of affairs that has now led to the creation of rescue centers for their refuge, but even as the subject remains intricate and controversial in the Kenyan domain, it is emerging that the killings could be engineered by unresolved generational land conflict and interests in the county.
