Young Aaron Cheruiyot surprises many by winning the Kericho Jubilee Alliance Party nominations

The youth and the political old guard in Kericho are headed for a clash as 29 year-old jubilee alliance party nominee Aaron Cheruiyot faces off with a former cabinet minister and a KANU heavyweight in the Kericho senatorial by-elections. The landmark win of the Moi University mass communication graduate is largely seen as a warning shot by the youth to the political old guards to stop taking young people for a ride. But as our reporter Murimi Mwangi now reports, the Kericho by-election will be the strongest acid test of the rivalry between the independence party KANU and the jubilee coalition.
