The Rotary District 9212, which covers four Eastern Africa countries, will hold its 96th annual conference between April 9, 2021 and April 10, 2021.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, this year’s conference, just like last year’s, will be held virtually.
The seminar, which brings together at least 1,000 participants pooled from Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Eritrea, bears the theme “Out of Africa Digital Extravaganza Like Never Before”.
“The commitment from our District Governor Patrick Obath was to ensure that the essence and objectives of the conference were maintained,’’ the Chairman of the 96th conference, Paul Kasimu, said.
Standard Group will live stream key segments of the conference on its social media platforms.
Speakers during the conference include a welcome address by Laikipia County Governor Nderitu Muriithi and a presentation on thriving during disruption by University of Nairobi don, Prof. Bitange Ndemo.
Others include Kenya Air Force Commander Major-General Francis Ogola and Paul Polman, the former Unilever Chief Executive Officer and now Chairman of IMAGINE; a social venture accelerating business leadership to achieve the global goals.
The second day of the conference will include awards in various categories to some of the 130 Rotary clubs in the district, handover of all the clubs’ presidencies to presidents-elect and handover of the district leadership to District Governor Elect Alex Nyaga from District Governor Eng. Patrick Obath.
The tenure of the club presidents and incoming District Governor formally begin on July 1.
