Anglican Archbishop Jackson ole Sapit (pictured) has cautioned against politicisation of environmental matters.

Speaking in Nairobi during the International Clean-up Day, he cited Mau Forest and the Masai Mara Game Reserve, warning that interference with the ecosystem has consequences that will stretch through different generations and must not be subjected to politics of the day.

“We have seen, of late, leaders politicising issues of environment like Mau and it is very unfortunate because we all know that is a water catchment area for posterity and is a source of numerous rivers; let us not politicise life because that is dangerous for all of us... People are creating businesses where they are not supposed to be thus interfering with nature,” he said.

The clean-up was organised by the Green Anglican Movement, Nairobi City County and Trees for Healthy Community Organisation.
