President Uhuru Kenyatta is in New York for the 73rd United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) to address the summit.
President flew out of the country on September 22 a Nexus tweet reads: "President @UKenyatta left for New York last night. He will be attending and addressing the @UN General Assembly. The President will also engage in bilateral conversations and promote investments and the #Big4Agenda on the sidelines of the meeting."
The President is reported to have begun his schedule by meeting influential and corporate leaders thereafter attending a dinner hosted by Kenya Airways at Rockfeller in the high-end part of the New York.
At the party, the Uhuru thanked Kenyan Airways for securing the deal for direct Kenya-US flights.
"On behalf of Kenyan people, I thank the United States Government for working closely with us to make this realization," said the President.
He urged Kenyans in Diaspora to take advantage of the pocket-friendly rates in the direct flights.
It is anticipated that the partnership so achieved that sees Kenya Airways having direct flights to US from Kenya set to commence on October 28 will open up new trade, tourism and investment opportunities between the two countries.
The head of state will talk about peace and security besides bilateral matters and promoting investments and the Big Four Agenda.

The UN General Assembly opened on 18 September 2018 and will run for nine working days. A number of events will take place in parallel to the official opening of the 73rd session of the UN general Assembly.
On Monday, 24 September, the UNGA will hold a high level plenary meeting on global peace in honour of Nelson Mandela.
On Thursday, 27 September, the UN will hold a one-day comprehensive of the progress achieved in the control of non-communicable diseases.
Cabinet secretaries Monica Juma (Foreign Affairs), Peter Munya (industrialization), Esther Koimet (Transport Principal Secretary) among others have accompanied the president.
Tanzanian President, John Magufili has also left for New York aboard a commercial flight for the function.
