Jubilee offices in Kapsabet were vandalised by angry youths in protest against “unfair nominations process”.
The youth sprayed the offices with ‘Chama Cha Mashinani’ as County Returning Officer Solomon Mang’ira postponed the process owing to insufficient ballot papers and election materials.
Mang’ira said 60 per cent of party members would not vote as the party had supplied only 40 per cent of required materials. “It is my responsibility to ensure a free and fair process,” he said.
Angry youth blockaded the busy Eldoret-Kapsabet-Kisumu highway as another group vandalised the JP office, threatening to decamp to Governor Isaac Ruto’s CCM.
In Elgeyo Marakwet, irate voters and aspirants camped at the party headquarters in Iten town to protest insufficient ballot materials.
