Former US President Bill Clinton arrives in Kenya

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton arrived in Kenya on Friday to visit projects funded by his foundation in the country. 

The plane carrying the Former U.S. President touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta Internationall Airport around 12.30 a.m. Friday morning.

 Mr Clinton was received by Deputy President William Ruto who was accompanied by foreign affairs CS Amina Mohamed and Senator Kipchumba Murkomen when he arrived.

Mr Clinton’s visit to Kenya is part of his tour to African countries including Tanzania, Liberia and Morocco to inspect projects funded by the Clinton Foundation that seeks to boost agriculture, health, education and wildlife conservation.

Mr Clinton is on a nine-day trip to Africa accompanied by his daughter Chelsea. The tour is seen as a reward for previous contributions towards the foundation and an inducement for future donations.

Clinton, 68, will be in the country for three days touring projects that their family foundation has funded to address hunger, economic development, health care, climate change and wildlife conservation.

TThe places they will visit include Mbagathi District Hospital, Farasi Lane Primary School, Moi International Sport Centre, Kasarani amphitheatre to witness the foundation at work and also give talks..

The two will then head to Savelberg Retreat Centre in Nairobi Adams Arcade where they will witness hearing aids get fitted to individuals in need of hearing assistance.

Starkey Hearing Foundation, a member of the Clinton Foundation, conducts hearing missions around the world to bring the gift of hearing.

Clinton's visit comes ahead of US Secretary of State John Kerry visit, and two months before President Barrack Obama's.
