Leaders and politicians have taken to social media to mourn the late Elvis Murakana, son of Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi.

The news was first shared by Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai, who expressed his condolences.

“It is with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences to you and your family on the tragic loss of your son, Elvis Murakana,” Alai said.

“As the MCA for Kileleshwa Ward, I join the people of Dagoretti North and beyond in mourning this profound loss. Losing a child is unimaginable, and my thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time.”

President William Ruto also shared a message of condolence through his official X handle (@WilliamsRuto):

“May God grant Mheshimiwa Beatrice Elachi and her family strength to bear the loss of their dear son, Elvis Murakana. Be comforted by the word of the Lord in Psalm 147:3: ‘He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.’”

Other leaders also sent their sympathies to the Nairobi lawmaker’s family.

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga wrote: “My sister and friend, Hon. Beatrice Elachi, may God give you grace and fortitude during this difficult time. Go well, Elvis.”

The ODM Party posted: “May God grant Hon. @BeatriceElachi_ (MP, Dagoretti North) and her family the strength to overcome the pain of losing her son, Elvis Murakana Namenya. It is a huge loss to Mheshimiwa. As a party, we stand with her in this moment of grief.”

Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi wrote: "My deepest condolences to my sister Hon. @BEATRICEELACHI following the untimely demise of her son Elvis Murakana in a tragic road accident. May the Almighty grant her and her family the fortitude to bear this terrible loss."

MCSK CEO Ezekiel Mutua added: “I am sorry, Hon. Beatrice Elachi, for the loss of your son. May God grant you and your family peace and comfort. In such moments, only God can provide peace that surpasses human understanding.”

Unverified reports suggest that Elvis had been fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit at a Nairobi hospital after a tragic accident. However, the family is yet to issue an official statement.
