Hotelier bites colleague's ear in bitter fight over Sh600 chama debt

A 28-year-old hotelier got himself in trouble after he reportedly attacked his colleague, by biting his ear over Sh600 chamaa debt. On July 17, at Kariokor in Starehe sub-county, Peter Nguli Kimanzi, as per court documents, assaulted Alex Mwaniki Mwenoto, causing him serious injuries.

It was reported that Mwenoto owed the accused Sh600 having failed to remit it on the chamaa day. The accused got impatient Mwenoto, also a workmate at a food joint, was taking too long to get him the money. The accused demanded for the money, but Mwenoto requested for a few more days to settle the debt but Kimanzi could hear none of it.
