Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua celebrated his birthday with heartfelt wishes from his wife, Dorcas, who took to social media to honour him.

In a personal and affectionate post, Dorcas referred to her husband as her "extraordinary man" and the "pillar and a covering of our family," highlighting the bond that defines their relationship.

Dorcas's message was also filled with praise for Gachagua's role as a husband and father.

"Happy Birthday to my extraordinary man, husband, companion, and friend. You are the pillar and a covering of our family. You take everything in stride and are truthful to a fault. Kevin, Keith, and I celebrate the wonderful gift of your life. You are the best father and husband," she wrote.

She continued her message with blessings and wishes for the future, saying, "May the Lord grant you favour, long life, and overflowing blessings. May He fulfil every desire of your heart."

The relationship between the Deputy President and Dorcas has been one of public admiration.

In 2023, Gachagua humorously shared with the nation the amount he allots for his wife's hair care, during the launch of the Women Enterprise Fund at KICC.

Emphasizing the importance of supporting spouses, Gachagua advised men to ensure their wives always look their best.

"Look at Pastor Dorcas, I have done my part...it is also important to look for a calm woman. I am so lucky I married a pastor who does not have so many needs," Gachagua said.

The couple's story, as Dorcas once recounted in an interview with city preacher Kathy Kiuna, began with a chance encounter during her student days at Kenyatta University.

During a personal turmoil following a gas explosion at her mother's house, which led to severe injuries for two children, Dorcas found herself contemplating life's cruel turns.

It was during this low point that she met Gachagua through a twist of fate at a function attended by the late President Moi.

Initially suicidal, her chance interaction with the Deputy President marked the beginning of a life-saving and life-changing relationship.
