Four suspects are being held by Buruburu Police in Nairobi following the mysterious death of a Grade 8 pupil.
The four, including two directors, the head teacher and a teacher in charge of the boarding section at Joy Gardens Primary School in Tena-Umoja, were arrested on Friday night after the deceased allegedly jumped from the rooftop of a seven-storey building that houses the school.
Buruburu DCIO said the four will assist investigators in establishing the circumstances under which the deceased died.
"They have given so many versions of what happened. For now, we are not able to ascertain who is telling the truth. That is why they have to accompany us to the station so that we can zero down to the incident report," he said.
Another senior officer privy to the incident said the accounts given by the directors were not adding up.
According to the officer, an internal investigation was going on at the school and the deceased pupil had been interrogated by a teacher earlier in the day.
The officer said what remains unclear is what happened between the time the interrogation ended and 7.30pm, when the deceased is said to have jumped from the rooftop of the school.
"For now all these remain speculations and investigators will establish the real occurrences. We have obtained all the CCTV footage and this will give us a key piece of evidence into the matter," he said.
