The second Africa Media Festival, a continental platform for media innovation and excellence, will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, from February 21 to 22, 2024.

The event, organized by Baraza Media Lab, will bring together over 600 media stakeholders from across Africa and beyond.

The festival, which debuted in 2023 with more than 650 participants from 18 African countries, aims to celebrate the latest innovations in the media sector, enhance knowledge sharing, and spark cross-disciplinary conversations.

The festival will also address the challenges and opportunities facing African media, such as disruptive technologies, policy frameworks, funding strategies, and talent development.

"We want this year's festival to be a space that will surface future trends, an opportunity to gaze at the horizon of the big trends that are shaping the media ecosystem," says Christine Mungai, Lead Curator at Baraza Media Lab, and the Festival Curator of this year's event.

The festival will feature a diverse array of formats, including panels, workshops, masterclasses, keynotes, research reports, product launches, networking opportunities, roundtable discussions, design thinking workshops, fireside chats, and artistic performances.

The festival will also showcase emerging technologies in the media sector through hackathons and pre- and post-conference meetups.

The conference invites a diverse range of stakeholders, including investors, grantmakers, media owners, civil society representatives, social media influencers, journalists, creatives, and government officials.

Expected participants include writers, journalists, cartoonists, AI technologists, TV and radio professionals, social media influencers, photographers, funders, and poets.

The festival will be held at the Nairobi National Museum, a cultural and historical landmark that showcases Kenya's rich heritage. Nairobi, the capital and largest city of Kenya, is a vibrant and cosmopolitan hub that offers a variety of attractions, such as wildlife parks, museums, markets, restaurants, and nightlife.

The festival is a unique opportunity for media enthusiasts and professionals to network, learn, and collaborate in one of Africa's most dynamic and innovative cities.
