Celebrated singer and former Starehe Member of Parliament, Charles Njagua Kanyi, popularly known as Jaguar, has secured a government position.

Jaguar, known to be a close ally of impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, has been appointed by President William Ruto as a member of the Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ).

The commission will be led by Charles Orinda Dulo, an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, with Dorothy Jemator Kimengech serving as the other member.

In his new role, Jaguar will be responsible for several duties, including investigating any conduct within state affairs, or any actions or omissions in public administration, by state organs, public officers, or officials in both the National and County Governments that are suspected to be improper or prejudicial.

Additionally, he will address complaints of abuse of power, unfair treatment, manifest injustice, or any unlawful, oppressive, or unresponsive conduct within the public sector.

Known for his hit song Kigeugeu, Jaguar has had a diverse career that spans both the music industry and public service.

He represented Starehe Constituency in Parliament from 2017 to 2022, where he advocated for youth empowerment and job creation.

Following an unsuccessful re-election bid, he briefly served as Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Arts, and Sports.
