Popular online activist Mumbi Seraki has reemerged with visible injuries after being missing for days.

Seraki, who is known for her bold takes, shared distressing photos of herself with bruises and stitches, revealing the harrowing ordeal she endured.

"They almost got me last Friday, family, but as fate would have it, I am back home, safe and sound. Battered, bruised, burnt, but still very much here to bring in the new dawn," she wrote in an emotional post on X.

Her sudden silence on social media led netizens to mobilise under the hashtag #FreeMumbiSeraki, demanding answers about her whereabouts.

Controversial blogger Francis Gaitho later provided an update, reassuring her followers.

"I have spoken to @DrMumbiSeraki, and she’s safe. She had been lured by a ‘friend,’ some lawyer, to meet up...," Gaitho claimed in a post.

According to Gaitho, Seraki alleged that she had been drugged and lost memory of much of what happened.

She also recounted that the vehicle she was traveling in was involved in an accident and burned to ashes, destroying all her belongings.

"She has been in the hospital ever since. She was discharged today and is currently with family and friends," he added, sharing a photo of a vehicle engulfed in flames.

Seraki is no stranger to the limelight. She previously hosted 'State of the Nation' and performed a reggae rendition of 'Nchi Yetu' for the late President Mwai Kibaki during the 2012 Jamhuri Day celebrations.

She has also worked with the World Health Organization (WHO) in Switzerland.

Her disappearance came just days after she posted a video criticising President William Ruto’s motorcade for allegedly causing the death of Edgar Charles Frederick during Ruto’s three-day tour of Nairobi. The incident, which sparked public outrage, occurred near Adams Arcade as the presidential convoy traveled from Lang’ata toward Kibra.
