General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, has sparked conversation once again, this time over his unconventional reason for avoiding church.
In a statement shared on his official X account on Tuesday, March 11, Muhoozi admitted that he deliberately steers clear of church services, claiming the presence of beautiful women distracts him from his spiritual focus. According to him, their presence is no coincidence but a deliberate temptation from Satan.
"Long time ago, I read somewhere that being a soldier is the second-best thing a man can do. The best is to be a priest, dedicating one's life to God completely, forsaking all women," he wrote. "When I heard about the women issue, I knew I couldn't manage."
He went on to explain why he prefers to pray in military barracks rather than attend church services.
"They are too many beautiful women in church. It's like Sitani concentrates them there for me," he said. "No, I pray in the barracks with my soldiers. There we can fully concentrate on God!"
His remarks gained a lot of traction online, with most people praising his choice while agreeing with him.
Uganda’s Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs Balaam Barugahara praised Muhoozi, saying his absence from priesthood was a gain for the world.
"Supreme leader @mkainerugaba, if you had chosen the priesthood, it would have been a loss for the world. Women globally admire you, and your charisma is undeniable. Thankfully, you joined the forces, serving a higher purpose while remaining a beloved figure to many."
Another user, Arinda Derrick, likened him to a man of God, writing, "One of Jesus’s missions on earth was to bring heavenly peace to people. Since you're serving in the same office, you are a great man of God. May God bless you with more anointing."
Muhoozi and his controversial views on womenMuhoozi is no stranger to bold statements about women. In October 2024, he stirred debate by showering Kenyan ladies with praise while taking a swipe at Kenyan men.
"Kenya is my second childhood home. I remember how pretty the girls were and how they all loved me. I also remember how ugly the boys were," he wrote.
Two months later, in December, he took his admiration for women to another level, declaring his willingness to pay dowry for American superstar Beyoncé. "But how long will I wait for Beyoncé? Does she know how many cows I have?" he questioned.
In February 2025, he made yet another remark, suggesting that Kenyan women "dream of him" while criticising Kenyan men. "I think the problem has to do with the bedroom. Many Kenyan women are dreaming about me when their men are doing nonsense," he posted.
While Muhoozi's statements often draw amusement and criticism in equal measure, his latest declaration adds yet another chapter to his long list of outspoken views.
