Comedian YY has confirmed the end of his relationship with Noela Toywa after dating for several months.
Speaking to Silva Kido during an interview, YY casually revealed that the two had gone their separate ways, leaving many fans surprised.
YY did not delve into the reasons for their breakup but made it clear there was little else to say about the situation.
When Kido inquired why he had not posted photos with Noela during the holiday season, YY replied, “Tulianchana (We broke up).” Pressed further, he added, “Vile watu tu huachana. It’s life. Let’s talk about my show.”
The news came as a shock to many, given how publicly YY had introduced Noela in November 2024.
In a grand romantic gesture, he had taken her on a helicopter ride and shared moments from their date online. The couple’s chemistry was evident, and YY’s declaration of love caught fans’ attention.
“You have brought a lot of happiness into my life, and it’s an honour to have you,” he said during the introduction. He also expressed his desire for the public to understand who Noela was and what she believed in.
To make the moment even more memorable, YY presented her with a title deed for a piece of land. “This is a title deed for a piece of land I have acquired for you. Do whatever you wish with it—if you want to build a house or put up a business, it’s up to you,” he told her. He also promised to take her on a dream trip to any destination she chose.
When asked earlier about starting a relationship with Noela soon after breaking up with his ex-girlfriend Marya, YY defended his decision.
“I am a family person. I would love to build a family for myself,” he said. He further explained that men should not take long breaks after relationships, noting, “Ukijipea break ata miezi sita, hutawai move on na hutawai taka mambo ya wanawake.”
At the time, YY had also hinted at possible wedding plans with Noela, saying, “We leave that to God, but we pray it’s as soon as possible.”
