Bradley Marongo, aka Bradley Mtall, wore closed shoes for the first time this week and was thankful to Bata for customising them for him.

Describing it as a ‘life-changing’ opportunity, he said the gesture humbled him and was looking forward to more deals with the company.

“I am deeply grateful to @batakenya for the life-changing opportunity to wear closed shoes for the first time. This experience means more to me than words can express, and I truly appreciate your support.

“I look forward to the possibility of working together on more meaningful projects in the future,” he wrote.

Due to his outstanding height, Marongo became an internet sensation during the Gen Z-led protests and made several media tours to highlight his journey.

During a recent interview with KTN, he said so many women have been on his case but he is married.

“Ladies like tall, dark, and handsome. If I were to walk with another man, I’d attract more girls than him,” he said.

He added that he has had enough of the fame and now wants to find ways to make money. He claimed he does not mind the nature of work as long as he is well compensated.

“I finished primary school in 2012 but I could not continue with my education due to lack of school fees…I have never met my dad.

“My mother’s house was locked, and I made the bitter decision to look for employment, which is how I ended up being a tout,” he said.

Adding: “I make Shs300 per day, and considering the cost of living, it is a struggle for me as I have to send upkeep money to my family in Vihiga County”.

Marongo said he lives in a single room with three other friends, and when things are tough, he sleeps hungry to save a few coins for his family.

While many might consider his height a blessing, for Marongo, conducting simple chores like going to the market is a challenge as he often attracts crowds fascinated by his height.

Marongo’s mum accuses him of not picking her calls

His mother Monica Marongo recently claimed that he no longer picks up her calls and failed to meet her when she visited Nairobi a week ago.

In an interview, Bradley’s mum claimed her son had been consumed by the city life and the attention he has been getting, to the point that he has neglected his family.

“Bradley no longer picks up my calls and is very busy with his managers. We talked on Monday last week but we differed on several issues.

“His managers do not want him to talk to me or give me anything. I was in Nairobi but Bradley never visited me. I was told he was given a house and three months’ rent,” she claimed.

She added that she does not have a house and when she enquired about the deals her son had been signing, they had a disagreement.

“Once I get a place to call home I will not bother them anymore. I am the one who suffered when Bradley was growing up,” she said.

A man who claimed to be Marongo’s uncle said they underwent hardship together and urged him to remember his family.

“You have started making money so be wise and help your people. Remember where you have come from and do not forget your mother.

“Ensure you build a house for your mother…make sure she is comfortable. We know you are capable,” he said.
