Zari Hassan calls out Shakib's insecurity: 'What do you bring to the table?'

South African-based Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan has publicly criticised her husband, Shakib Lutaaya, accusing him of being overly insecure.

The issue arose after Diamond Platnumz, Zari's former partner, made an unannounced visit to their daughter's birthday party.

On Saturday, 10 August 2024, Zari hosted an extravagant all-white party at her luxurious home in Pretoria to celebrate her daughter Tiffah's special day.

However, the event took a turn when Shakib expressed frustration over Diamond’s surprise appearance.

Zari shared that Shakib was upset because he had not been informed that Diamond would be attending the party.

In a live video, Zari explained, "He was mad, questioning why I didn't tell him Diamond was coming. He even suggested that I might still be in love with the father of my children."

Addressing Shakib directly in the video, Zari said, "I don't think I'm for you. I'm very secure, and I chose you. And with your insecurities, you thinking otherwise, I don’t think I’m for you. Maybe you should find people on your level. What do you bring to the table for me to be here proving myself?"

Zari additionally stated that she had moved on from her past relationship with Diamond and chose to be with Shakib.

"I think one thing my husband doesn’t understand is that I am so over my ex. I chose my husband. There’s a lot of other people out there who want to be with me, and when I say a lot, these are people that you guys don’t know, but I chose my husband,” said Zari.

She continued, "And in the middle of all of this, my husband is still out there thinking, 'Oh, she's with the baby daddy.' Like, my baby daddy? You think my baby daddy is your competition?"

Zari further suggested that Shakib needs to understand that Diamond is not a threat to their relationship. She even hinted at the possibility of showing Shakib messages from other men, including prominent figures, to help him realise who his real competition might be.

"You probably need me to send you text messages of men, presidential candidates who are texting me, then you will know who is your competition," she said.

Despite the tension, Zari acknowledged, "I hear you guys saying that my husband loves me, I don’t doubt that."

However, this is not the first time the couple has faced issues related to Diamond. In February 2024, Shakib was upset after Zari appeared in a video with Diamond, where the former couple was seen walking hand in hand, a move that left Shakib feeling disrespected and blindsided.
