In a stunning turn of events, the recent abduction of Ugandan opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye appears to have fulfilled a prophecy made over a year ago by Prophet Elvis Mbonye.

Besigye's disappearance from Nairobi in November 2024, followed by his re-emergence under arrest in Uganda, sparked controversy and raised questions about regional security.  However, for followers of Prophet Mbonye, this incident held a deeper meaning.

On October 30, 2023, Mbonye delivered a prophetic message during a prayer meeting in Kampala.  He spoke of a "non-controversial" political figure disappearing, an event that would catch many by surprise.  This prediction, captured on video, gained renewed attention after Besigye's abduction.

While addressing thousands of congregants in attendance of his weekly prayer meetings held at Zoe grounds, in Kampala-Uganda, Prophet Elvis Mbonye prophetically revealed this saying; “There's a politician here, he shall disappear, and there will be talk; “Have they been kidnapped?"

While Besigye is a vocal critic of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, he wouldn't be considered a typical target for such an event.  This detail resonated with Mbonye's description of the missing figure being "non-controversial."

The accuracy of this prediction has brought renewed focus to Mbonye, who has a history of allegedly successful prophecies about national and international events. These include, the 2012 crash of Ugandan military helicopters in Kenya, among others.

Mbonye's supporters view these predictions as a form of "divine intelligence" that can guide leaders towards avoiding crises.  The Besigye incident, they argue, is a strong example of how prophecy can offer valuable foresight.

Whether viewed as a coincidence or a genuine gift, the connection between Mbonye's prophecy and Besigye's abduction has sparked a conversation about the role of spiritual guidance in governance.
