Israel hits Beirut again in second day of strikes

Rockets from Israel's Iron Dome air defence system are fired to intercept rockets fired from southern Lebanon near Haifa on September 24, 2024. The Israeli military said more than 50 projectiles were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel on the morning of September 24, as it pounded Hezbollah targets with new strikes. [AFP]

A Lebanese security source said an Israeli strike hit Hezbollah's south Beirut stronghold Tuesday, with the Israeli army also saying it had carried out a strike, a day after hitting the same area.

"An Israeli strike targeted two floors in a residential building in the Ghobeiri area," the security source said, requesting anonymity as he was not authorised to discuss sensitive matters.
