Sponsored by Commonwealth College, the tournament's main objective was to nurture sports talents in schools and revive sports again after two years of absence.

Tournament Director Michael Juma said they are targeting to expand the tourney next year outside Kisumu County to attract more teams as they aim to promote sports in colleges just as they excel in academics.

"We have noticed most colleges in Kenya are not sports structured as they leave co-curriculum to universities and secondary schools. This has to change because sports is important just as academics.

"Our goal is to grow in both and we want to inspire other colleges to join in and let us promote sports," said Juma.
