The National Assembly Committee on Appointments has rejected the nomination of Stella Soi Lang’at to Cabinet. 

Soi was nominated to the Gender docket by President William Ruto.

While tabling their report, the Committee on Appointments said Soi did not demonstrate understanding of the Gender docket. Further, the committee noted that te nominee's experience in public service had been marked by frequent job transitions.

"This lady (Stella Soi) is a career civil servant who has extensive experience in Public Service. However, she did not demonstrate adequate understanding of the docket to which she had been nominated and the committee found her unsuitable for appointment to that docket," said Majority leader Kimani Ichungwa.

MPs have however approved the remaining 19 Cabinet Secretary (CS) nominees who were vetted last week. 

They are; Kithure Kindiki (Interior), Debra Barasa (Health), Julius Migos (Education), Aden Duale (Environment), Alice Wahome (Lands), Soipan Tuya (Defence), Andrew Karanja (Agriculture), Eric Mugaa (Water), Davis Chirchir (Transport), Margaret Ndung'u (ICT).
