A chilling incident has sent shockwaves across social media after CCTV footage surfaced showing a boda boda rider abandoning a white coffin outside the home of political activist Morara Kebaso in the dead of night.
The disturbing video, now viral, captures the unidentified man hurriedly dumping what appears to be a baby-sized coffin before making a swift escape.
In another eerie video, a black coffin is also seen, intensifying the mystery. Kebaso later took to X (formerly Twitter) to share footage of the bizarre items found inside, strongly hinting at possible witchcraft or political intimidation.
"Whoever dropped this coffin at my Utawala workshop on Saturday night, do you know who my father is? Do you know that my Father in Heaven created the brain and hands that make coffins? I can make you a better one. Kuja mchana nikutengenezee jeneza safi. Leave my wife and family out of politics!" he wrote.
In yet another post, the activist condemned politicians for misusing unemployed youth, turning them into tools of intimidation instead of empowering them.
"The youth of Kenya have no decent employment. They have opted for boda boda to earn a living. Now you useless politicians are using them to deliver coffins instead of creating opportunities. Allow my home and my workplace to be a place of peace. Deliver your promises to the people instead of delivering coffins to my home in Ruiru and my office in Utawala."
The chilling contents of the coffin left many unsettled. Inside were photos of Kebaso and his wife, placed next to a dead black chicken with a red ribbon tied around its head.
Other unsettling items included a Barbie doll, a stuffed pony, plastic bottles filled with red liquid, a toy car, and a pair of baby-sized Crocs. The coffin also bore disturbing graffiti: “RIP MERCY DAVID.”
The shocking incident has sparked intense debate, with some Kenyans linking it to politics while others suspect it was an act of witchcraft.
Social media users flooded the comment section with reactions:
“I know some of your comrades have doubted your bona fides in the past. But I personally respect your tenacity. Go go go! Even if we make mistakes, we correct and move on. Just continue to do the right thing in humility. God will protect your future.”
Another X user wrote, “I only see witchcraft like this in Nigerian movies.”
“To be very honest, I wouldn't want to be in your position, but you are such a dedicated leader. Much awaits you in the future. I pray for your safety, and may God always guide you.”
“Watu wako kwa gate ya Morara na coffins Saturday usiku, halafu Sunday morning wanaingia kanisa kusema vile Mungu amewabariki. Noma sana.”
