TV host and reality star Catherine Matsisa has sparked a heated debate after boldly stating that having TV in the living room is a sign of poverty. During a recent Interview with KTN's Art of Living, a show hosted by Nailantei Kenga, Masitsa says having TV rooms should be the norm, as people should use living rooms for talks.

“Having a TV in the sitting room is a poverty mindset. If you are from my world, which means you went to school at the time when I went, TVs are for poor mindsets. Let me just say that,” she stated.

“Because as a family, if you're seated in your living room, then you're supposed to be having elevated conversations. Nobody is coming to your house to watch TV. Just to stay in your home and watch TV? A lot of homes, like this one, have TV rooms, but you still find them with TVs in the living room." The Real Housewives of Nairobi reality star added.

Masitsa’s grand home, located in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in the city, features large, panoramic windows with unobstructed views of the sprawling lush landscape.

Her home also does not have curtains, and she says she does not need any because she does not have neighbours in proximity.

The veterinary surgeon also revealled that the house stands on a one-acre piece of land.

“Sometimes I find people building home, and you can feel the house is asking to breathe, the design is so grand but the it is squeezed,” she observed.
