“Mbona” hitmaker and rapper Khaligraph Jones has become the talk of the internet after unveiling his prestigious house on Instagram. The luxurious home is located in Karen, Nairobi, and netizens have compared it to a mall due to its size.
In a video posted on his Instagram, Khaligraph showcased a room with a large shelf of glamorous shoes and chic caps.
The "OG" addressed the online reactions to his mansion, saying, “I woke up to me trending because of my house. People are comparing it to a mall, and these are the problems I have always wanted.”
Khaligraph Jones is among the most adored and successful African rappers today. He has had a sensational career and began building his mansion years ago.
The “Tuma Kitu” rapper’s wife, Georgina Muteti, shared photos of the house's foundation being dug on 7th February 2022.
In an interview at the time, Khaligraph said that he is building the mansion to showcase how his skills and talent have brought him success.
“I show my successes because it’s something that wasn’t shown by guys who were here before us. I’m building a home to show other musicians that it’s good to invest. With this industry, things can change, but if you have a place to call home where you don’t pay rent, it’s safe for the family,” he said.
The mansion is reportedly a multimillion-shilling project, featuring towering walls, bay windows, and a massive rooftop area. Many celebrities have applauded Khaligraph’s achievement.
In a comment on Instagram, Lang’ata MP and former comedian Jalang’o said, “I wish to have the problems that Khaligraph is having… that your house is so big that they confuse it for a mall.”
Renowned actress Kate Actress teased Khaligraph, saying, “Space tunashika na ngapi OG? Sitaki kubwa sana.” In a witty response, Khaligraph replied, “Ground floor imebaki duka moja. Nipigie simu.”
While the mansion has received praise, some netizens have criticised its design and size, comparing it to a Level 4 hospital, an Amazon warehouse, or even a silo. One influencer joked that it resembles Zetech College’s campus.
Despite the criticism, Khaligraph remains unfazed, responding to Kenyans’ reactions, “Hamjazoea hizi settings. When you come to my house, it’s like you are in America at Rick Ross’ place. Respect the OG.”
Most netizens, however, have praised the music mogul for achieving such a monumental feat. One fan commented on Instagram, “This guy is blessed tu roho safi. Respect the OG.” Another added, “I can't unsee LC Waikiki behind you, bro.”
Renowned businessman Chris Kirwa commented, “Nateseka nikisaka indoor event venues for a concert na uko nayo.” Influential Daddie Marto added, “Mtu amejenga anafaa heshima juu ya heshima. You learn how cruel and capitalist the world is. Mad respect.”
In a humorous comment on X (formerly known as Twitter), a netizen joked, “Khaligraph Jones badala ya kujenga nyumba, aliamua kujenga hospitali level 4 ya ku-nurse his sick lines!”
