American actor Peter Macon

American actor Peter Macon is in the country and brings a bag of goodies with him from Hollywood.

Peter, also a voice-over artist who plays the role of Bortus, the second officer aboard The Orville, and the role of Raka in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, is set to attend the YORA Summit in Kenya on October 8th and 9th, 2024.

During his visit, he will be conducting The Actors Gym, a film and theatre masterclass designed by the Emmy Award winner to provide actors with an intensive, immersive training experience.

As part of the masterclass, 30 participants will present monologues, engage in in-depth workshopping, and perform in front of influential industry professionals.

"The Actors Gym masterclass is not just a training program; it is a key component of the YORA Summit, embodying the summit's mission to ignite Africa's entrepreneurship and fuel unicorns. By integrating this masterclass into the summit, YORA emphasizes the significance of the creative arts in economic development, innovation, and cultural exchange," he told TNX.

The hybrid masterclass will be facilitated by Macon and Lucille Rivin, both online and in person in Nairobi.
