Former champions Gor Mahia are top of the FKF Premier League table after six rounds.

The record Kenyan champions who are unbeaten in their opening six matches lead the log with 14 points after winning four and drawing two matches.

K’Ogalo started the season on a high with four consecutive wins against KCB (2-1), AFC Leopards (1-0), Kariobangi Sharks (2-0) and Sofapaka (1-0) respectively.

The Green Army have however registered two draws in a row against Ulinzi Stars (0-0) and Kenya Police (1-1) that has left head coach Mark Harrison worrying.

Gor head coach Mark Harrison rued missed chances in their draw against Police and called for improvement.

“We missed two clear chances to score in the first half. Almost nine goal-scoring opportunities went to waste. We have been talking about converting our chances and we will go again to work towards rectifying our offensive style," said Harrison.

“We could have been 3-0 up in the first half and return to finish the match. A draw out of nothing but we go again in our next match."

Leading Gor are followed by Sharks, Bandari, City Stars and Homeboyz on 13 points.

Meanwhile, defending champions Tusker and AFC Leopards are finding it rough in the 2021-2022 FKF Premier League season after both registered their third and fourth defeats respectively over the weekend.

Wobbling Tusker are still struggling to stay steady on their feet after a 3-0 thrashing at the hand of Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday.

The champions had a very poor start to the season despite breaking the bank to sign 10-new players. The brewers lost 1-0 and 2-1 to AFC Leopards and newbies Talanta in their opening two fixtures.

The Robert Matano led side however bounced back from their disappointing start to the season with a 2-0 victory over Wazito before silencing Kenya Police 2-1.

However, the revival of coach Robert Matano's charges was checked after a thumping by Sharks. After the loss, Tusker are 10th in the log with six points but with a game in hand.

Another struggling top side is AFC Leopards who broke the bank on the last day of the transfer window and signed 10 players among them Nigerian forward Olaniyi Fasanmi, Joachim Oluoch, Maxwell Muchesia and Kayci Odhiambo in an attempt to improve their poor start.

Despite the heavy recruit, the outcome is still the same after they went down 1-0 despite a majority of the new players featuring in the match.

Leopards have only won once in six matches and the win came in their first game of the season against defending champions Tusker on September 25.

They are down in 15th place with four points, two off the relegation zone.
