Man goes for goat after girls reject his advances

A man has been jailed for four years by a Nakuru court after he admitted to committing an unnatural act with a goat.

Amos Njoroge, 27, pleaded guilty when he appeared before Chief magistrate Wilbroda Juma.

He was charged that on the night of March 20, at Kiondo trading centre in Nakuru District, he had carnal knowledge of a goat.

The court heard that on that day, Nancy Wanjiru Kamau heard some movements in her goats’ shed and, accompanied by her son, went to find out what was happening.

They caught the accused in the act and started shouting attracting neighbours.

She said that this was the second time she had found the accused in the act. "I forgave him in the first incident after he pleaded for forgiveness," she said.
Neighbours escorted him to Lanet Police Station.

In mitigation Njoroge told the court that he had turned to the goat since all the women in the area had rejected him for several years.
"What could I do after all the women in the area had rejected my advances and pleas? Put yourself in my shoes and you will understand the depth of my problems," he pleaded.

The magistrate said that the law was very strict on such offences and therefore would not be lenient on the accused.

"This is a very serious crime and you deserve to be punished. You will therefore serve the entire period of four years in jail," she ordered.
