Nairobi County Assembly representatives have been missing tea during their committee sittings - and they are not happy about it.
The members are not happy that the cafeteria has remained closed for the last few days forcing them to attend sittings on empty stomachs.
Acting Speaker Chege Mwaura (pictured) who is also Ngara MCA promised to do everything within his powers to ensure the cafeteria was operational.
“The welfare of the members is my utmost duty. I will push the County Assembly Service Board to put in place mechanisms that are necessary for resumption of provision of tea for committee meetings and for membership in general,” Mwaura stated.
He said serving of tea was abruptly stopped without explanation.
“I wish to report that the Office of the Speaker has taken up the matter and is working round the clock to ensure that the cafeteria resumes its operations.
