Singer Willy Paul has voiced his frustration over the dilapidated state of Katani Road in Syokimau, hinting that he may join politics to address the issue.
Taking to social media, the controversial artist called out Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, accusing him of neglecting the road despite years of complaints from residents.
"Syokimau MP, consider this a warning. Katani Road is in a terrible state. Tengeneza barabara na usifanye ile ufala umezoea ya kubandika, tengeneza barabara upya coz hiyo pesa iko! (Fix the road properly and stop the usual gimmicks. Build a new road because the funds are available!)," Willy Paul wrote.
The Sitolia hitmaker did not hold back, warning the MP that continued inaction could lead to his removal from office.
"You've played us for too long. Be careful, unaeza kuwa (you could be) recalled! You're not doing your work! Na ukitaka niingie debe na wewe 2027 jaribu (If you want, I could contest against you in 2027). Do your job-wakaaji wanaumia (residents are suffering)," he added.
Following backlash regarding the legal process of removing an MP, Willy Paul later corrected his statement, acknowledging that impeachment might not be feasible.
"Huyu MP lazima tumrecall since there's no mechanism ya ku-impeach. You can't be seated comfortably na haufanyi kazi yako! Katani Road is in a terrible state, boss!"
Willy Paul's remarks echo long-standing frustrations among Syokimau and Mavoko residents, who have endured poor infrastructure despite repeated promises from leaders. He warned that if nothing is done, voters will ensure change in the next election.
