Blankets and Wine: The weekend that was

Blankets and Wine was the highlight of the weekend, and it certainly delivered on its promises. The event took place on October 6 at Laureate Gardens, Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, and was filled with colour, art, food, music, and laughter.

Festival-goers had a great time, and the fashion on display was notable. Attendees wore everything from casual crop tops to beautiful dresses and African print designs.

The men also impressed with their stylish outfits. The festival was full of vendors selling jewellery, clothes, books, art, food, and drinks. Renowned Kenyan fashion icon Brian Babu had a stall showcasing a range of his designs.

The event featured exciting performances from various beloved artists from Kenya and South Africa. The lineup included South Africa's Nasty C, Kenya's Karun, Charisma, Wanjine, Fadhilee Itulya, Fathermoh, as well as South Africa’s Simmy and Sun-El Musician. Wanjine, known for the hit "Kairetu," engaged the crowd, who sang along with him. He wore a lavender and pink two-piece denim suit paired with a white T-shirt.

Fadhilee Itulya followed with a captivating performance, his melodic singing met with cheers of excitement from the crowd.

Karun, with her elegance and talent, had festival-goers overjoyed. The 30-year-old music star surprised the audience by bringing out Camp Mulla's Shappaman, a moment that sparked excitement.

Charisma, known for the hit "Sina Noma," delivered an energetic performance, leaving the audience dancing and singing along. He was stylishly dressed in a see-through mesh tank top and skirt-like trousers. Fathermoh also wowed the crowd as they sang along to his hit song "Kudade."

The event’s climax came with Nasty C’s performance, which was a highlight for many. He performed several of his popular songs, including "Hell Naw," "Said," and "Whipped." South African artists Simmy and Sun-El Musician closed the event on a joyful note.

On the Onja Onja stage, DJs such as Kmat, Freesia Flow, Naisis, Lemi, Simila, Goddess, DJ Paps, MC Yallah, Hasira Hasara, and Barno kept the energy high with their sets.
