Wizkid in surprise performance alongside Justin Bieber at Made In America Festival

Grammy award winning artiste Wizkid made a surprise appearance and performance at The Made in America festival on Sunday alongside Justin Bieber.

The ‘Ghetto Love’ singer and the Canadian popstar performed ‘Essence’ remix, which is off Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’ album. He released a deluxe version of the album on August 27.

Justin invited Wizkid on stage to perform the song, which has topped the international charts all summer.

The remix, which was released three weeks ago, was first teased by the Nigerian afro star who told his millions of followers that he had something special for them.

"Got something special for you guys tomorrow..." he wrote on Twitter.

An elated Justin was excited to have been part of the remix and further described the song as the biggest of the summer.

“Thank u for letting me jump on the song of the summer. Essence remix out now,” wrote Bieber on his Instagram.

The song was originally released in October 2020 and became an instant hit.

Wizkid was set to take an album tour in the State as well as in Canada prior to the festival that attracted large crowds.

The ‘Made in America’ festival, which took place in Philadelphia in The United States, featured performances by Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Roddy Ricch, Bobby Shmurda, Baby Keem, Lil Durk, A$AP Ferg, Moneybagg Yo, Freddie Gibbs, Tinashe and many more others.
