Controversial gospel singer Ringtone Apoko has said he is jetting out to South Africa for treatment following his altercation with bloger Robert Alai on July 23.

Announcing his departure on Instagram, Ringtone appealed to his fans to pray for him.

"Breaking news; prayers are needed for your favourite gospel singer. Headed South Africa for treatment," he wrote.

This comes not too long after the singer said he was still in pain and needed to undergo a head scan to determine the cause of his discomfort.

“Naumwa na mkono na kichwa…na mimi sijawahi kujulikana kwa kupiga watu hii mambo yote sisi hufanya kwa mtandao ni ya kufurahisha wakenya…nimefanya head scan na kuna probability ni kama nita have kwenda South Africa kufanya head scan zaidi. Kwa sababu niliumizwa,” said Ringtone.

“Mimi naumwa… na mwili wangu hauko sawa. Mimi sikukosea Robert Alai lakini aliamua tu kunivamia, nikapandisha kioo ya gari wakati alikuja kunivamia nayeye akaona akuje na rungu apasue kioo ya gari yangu na akaniumiza,” he said.

Not only that, Ringtone hopes to get compensation for his vehicle.

"Landrover Kenya ni dealers wa gari ambayo ilikuwa damaged and walishapeana quotation yao… quotation ni around Sh500K niko na P3 lakini nashangaa kesi aiendelei kwa nini? Mimi nataka tu justice," added Ringtone.

In an online video that has since gone viral, the Zoea Kupigwa Mawe singer is seen confronting Alai, accusing him of assault. "Mbona unanipiga? No mbona unanipiga? You cannot take the law into your own hands no matter the circumstance," said Ringtone, who had blood trickling from his chin.

Blogger Robert Alai.

He, however, said he would step back and let the authorities do their job.

"I want to thank all Kenyans for praying for me after the assault and attack. I want to thank the doctors of the Kenyatta National Hospital for working on me, and I just want to ask my fans to continue praying for me. I am a law abiding citizen therefore I will let the law take its course," he said.

Since the incident, Alai has not commented on the matter.
