Nigerian singer and song writer Peter Okoye, who is a former member of the defunct group, P square has bagged an honorary doctorate degree from Escae-Benin University, Benin Republic. The 39-year-old Nigerian singer-songwriter was awarded the doctorate degree for his contribution in music and dance in the entertainment industry.

Taking to social media, the father of two expressed his gratitude for the added title.

“Dear Team P! It’s a great honor to be decorated by a distinguished educational institution, who have recognized my contribution to dance and music as well as my support for the youth in the entertainment industry. Thanks, you @escaeakpakpacampus @escaeunibenin for this honor,” he tweeted.

He also took the opportunity to slightly brag about the acquired title revealing that he should be now referred to as ‘Dr Mr P’ henceforth.

“- Dr (Hon) Peter Obumneme Okoye Aka Dr Mr P,” he added.

The honorary doctorate degree comes barely a week after he went on record taking a swipe at his fierce critics who thought he would disappear and never amount to anything following his split from his twin brother, Paul and their group.

Taking to Facebook, the dancer and director who also doubles up as an actor disclosed that ever since the split, he is now richer and doing very well for himself.

"Team P! What were they thinking? That I wasn’t going to survive alone? They just can’t stand the fact that I am richer now and doing well for myself. Pained! And this post is for them and them alone! Just watch them referring this post to my family as usual! Odes! Watch them start preaching!" he wrote.

Dr Mr P further urged his haters to reveal themselves so that his management team can separate them from his true fans. He went on to insist that he will not hesitate to block anyone who brings negativity through his social media platforms.

"Like I said! Haters pls comment and identify yourself on this post and my management will separate you out from my true fans. The Blocking also includes the people that liked and support the comment!" he said.

While at it, he further urged those who do not like him to feel free to unfollow him before he comes for them through the block button.

"You must not like my doings! So, Feel free to unfollow and unlike this my page! Or better still identify yourself so we can Block you! Have a very good morning!"
